Varicose veins are swollen veins and twisted veins that are caused by leaking valves. While one of the main reasons that patients choose to receive treatment is cosmetic, they can also be very uncomfortable, causing aching, itching, cramps, leg swelling, skin damage and leg ulcers. We offer several different treatments for varicose veins:
Radio-frequency ablation – This is a method of treating the main veins by using radio waves to generate heat. A heat-sealing catheter probe is passed through the skin into the vein under Local or General anesthesia. the heat restricts blood flow in the problem vein taking pressure of it.
Avulsion – This is a technique to remove varicose veins completely through making a series of tiny incisions. This can also be done under general or local anesthetics procedure depending on how extensive your veins are and stitches are not necessary.
Foam sclerotheraphy — This involves injection a special vein sealing drug as foam into the veins. The foam scars the veins which seals the veins. Foam sclerotheraphy is usually carried out under local anesthetics.
