What are varicose veins?
Varicose veins are enlarged veins that often appear on the legs and may cause aching, heaviness, itching, or swelling, especially after long periods of standing. You may also notice visible twisted or bulging veins and skin changes around the ankles.
Problems with your veins can present in many different ways including large bumpy veins but also skin changes and ulcer. Have a look at the images below to see if they link to any of your symptoms. How to get your veins treated?

Clinical assessment
Once you are happy we will arrange for you to be booked in to see one of our highly experienced consultants.

During your clinic appointment they will take a thorough history and perform an examination.

They will then arrange for an duplex ultrasound.

Duplex Ultrasound
This is where one of our highly skilled Vascular Scientists will perform an ultrasound assessment of your veins.

They will look in detail at the root cause of your varicose veins and identify any other potential problems.
​
This then gets fed back to your consultant who will then discuss the treatment options with you.

Treatment
After further discussion with your surgeon we will book you in for your treatment.

Our treatment options are walk in, walk out procedures and are based on your problem so you get a tailored treatment to treat the underlying cause of the problem. This helps get long lasting results.

Following treatment our surgeons will ensure you have a follow up appointment 6 weeks after to see the results. ​​
